North Quad Residence Hall Replacement

The University of Notre Dame is planning the construction of two new undergraduate residence halls on North Quad to replace Keenan and Stanford Halls, along with the retirement of nearby Haggar Hall. The project will provide modern residential facilities designed to enhance student living, studying, and community engagement. Each four-story residence hall will accommodate 236 students and feature a variety of room configurations, study and social spaces, kitchens, laundry facilities, fitness areas, and a chapel, as well as apartments for residential faculty and clergy. Both buildings will reflect the University's collegiate Gothic architectural style and provide approximately 148,000 square feet of combined residential space. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027, with both residence halls scheduled to open in fall 2029.
