Parking updates

Author: Parking Services

Dear Colleagues,

As we can all agree, this has been an unusually disruptive summer for parking on campus. We recognize the ongoing construction has resulted in an often inconvenient parking experience, so we want to thank you for your continued patience and understanding this summer. Fortunately, many projects are nearing completion, and status updates are provided below:

  • Stadium Lots
The geothermal well project is on schedule. The stadium lots (B1 and C1) will reopen by Wednesday, August 17.

  • Library/McCourtney Hall Lot
This lot is partially complete and has been reopened for use. This lot will offer 20 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant parking spaces – 10 on the north side, and 10 on the south side. The final stages of construction, including striping and signage placement, will be completed by Friday, August 5.

  • Library Circle
Repaving of the library circle is complete. Parking space allocation in the library circle will be restored to the original allocation, including 10 ADA-compliant spaces.

  • New Information Technology Center Lot
A new, small lot has been constructed immediately east of the Information Technology Center. This lot offers 90-minute parking in 10 spaces and six ADA-compliant spaces. The final stages of construction, including striping and signage placement, will be completed by Friday, August 5.

  • Lots near Grace Hall
A new lot has been constructed northeast of Grace Hall, which will serve resident hall staff and includes six ADA-compliant spaces.  As a result, approximately eight reserved spaces in the B16 lot will be returned to general parking.

  • Guest and Visitor Parking
Guest and visitor parking will continue to be available in the Compton Family Ice Arena and D-Bulla lots.

To help ease the current strain on the south side of campus, the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore basketball courts will be open for parking whenever possible until the stadium lots reopen. The courts will be unavailable for parking August 1-4 as they will be utilized by a basketball camp, but the courts will be open August 5-17.

Again, many thanks for your patience this summer! For additional information, please contact ParkingServices at 631-5053 or parking@nd.edu.
