McKenna Hall, as we know it, shut down operations at the end of the workday on Monday, July 22, and will be vacated by Thursday, Aug. 1, so a two-year reconstruction project can commence.

Beginning the week of Monday, Aug. 5, construction safety fencing will be placed around the building to secure the site. Please click to see detailed map to understand how this will affect pedestrian traffic.

McKenna will reopen in the fall of 2021 as a state-of-the-art facility to accommodate the Notre Dame Conference Center’s capacity to host conferences and special events. It will also serve as the new home for the Enrollment Division to welcome prospective students and visitors.

Conference center staff and retirees and other invited guests celebrated the last day of operations on July 22 with a luncheon. They also had the opportunities to see renderings of what the new building will look like.
