Campus shuttles to run continuously from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Jan. 5

Author: Transportation Services

We are pleased to announce the expansion of operating hours on a trial basis for the University’s two free campus shuttles for faculty, staff and students. Beginning Jan. 5, the shuttles will run continuously from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, including during the mid-morning and mid-afternoon hours, to better serve the Notre Dame community.

The two free shuttles began this semester to help faculty, staff and students navigate several major construction projects across campus and related parking adjustments. While the new routes have been helpful in the early morning, lunchtime and late afternoon hours, we have received feedback that suggests we may have demand for shuttles mid-morning (9 to 11:30 a.m.) and mid-afternoon (1:30 to 4 p.m.).

As construction on the University’s newest buildings progresses and the potential for hazardous weather conditions increases, providing expanded shuttle service is one way that we can help ensure a positive campus experience for all who study and work here.

Please see the Campus Shuttle Schedule for more information. As always, should you need a safety escort outside of the shuttle times, please contact the Notre Dame Security Police at (574) 631-5555.

Thank you for your feedback and for your support of the University’s growth. We will continue to monitor the ridership and effectiveness of the campus shuttles throughout the spring semester and then use the data we gather to determine what, if any, long-term adjustments are needed for the shuttle during the 2015/2016 academic year.
